Galaxy AI got the A 26 5G 12 days ago and to say I have been disappointed is an understatement. I thought the battery was faulty because the charging was slow and doesn't last. I don't use heavy apps but the battery runs down fast. What could be the reason? I moved from A23 to this and the A23 seems stronger, charges faster and lasts longer. Is it because it's 5G? This is my first 5G device.

Galaxy AHi SS090,
We are sorry to hear about the battery performance issues you're facing with your Galaxy A26 5G.
You mentioned slower charging, which can happen if the "Protect Battery" feature is enabled. This feature helps extend your battery's lifespan by limiting the charge to 85%. Here’s how to check and turn off that setting:
Go to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > More battery settings. Ensure Fast charging is turned on and check that Protect Battery is not enabled.
Also, please make sure you're using the original charger for optimal charging speeds.
Since you're not using heavy apps, I’d suggest checking your battery usage to identify if any apps are draining more power than expected. Here’s how to do that:
Go to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Usage since last full charge. You can also try putting unused apps to sleep by going to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Background usage limits.
Additionally, in the first few days after setup, your phone may run background processes like syncing accounts or indexing files, which can temporarily affect battery life.
If these steps don’t help or you still feel there’s an issue with your battery, please use the Samsung Members app to run diagnostics.
Open the Samsung Members app on your device. Tap on Support at the bottom of the screen. Select Phone Diagnostics. Run the Battery test and check if any error messages or warnings appear.
Thank you.
