Am I the only one experiencing this?  On auto all my shots over exposed. Similarly the colours are quite off.  Are other Samsung products the same?
A friend said the same thing about hers.
Anyone else make this same observation?

Sorry to hear of your disappointment with the quality of the images captured on your Galaxy A70. First of all I would recommend making sure that the Camera is in Photo mode, and that the scene you are capturing is well lit, as bad light can make it difficult for the camera to focus. Also, if you tap on the subject of the photo a square should appear on screen in the area you tapped. Please ensure that the square turns green before hitting the camera button so the picture focuses correctly.

If the problem persists then please open the Members app > Get Help > Interactive Checks > Camera, and follow the on screen instructions. If you get any errors during this test then please visit a Support Centre where an engineer can inspect the phone for you. To find your nearest one please check the following link, select 'Mobile Device' and enter your post code.

thanks for the prompt response.
will try the above. but for clarity there is no square (just two semi-circles) and it doesn't turn green.

(did you try manually setting in Pro mode to check if you can unexposed the picture ? Also, we'd like to see one of your picture here...No   n.u.d.e    please 😎 lol)

Please check on this link, you'll find all differents problems that could happened with your device

https://thedroidguy.com/samsung-galaxy-a70-troubleshooting

I just check it for you and found nothing about it BUT if it was my device i'll try 2 differents things,

Fisrt try wipe cahe partition like this : Wipe cache doesn't affect your files.

Try to clear the cache partition where this cache is stored and see if it helps. A corrupt system cache can cause performance issues as well as a bunch of other minor annoyances. To ensure that your phone’s system cache is fresh, you can wipe the cache partition. This will force the phone to delete the current cache and replace it with a new one over time.

To wipe the cache partition on your Galaxy A70:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  4. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe cache partition’.
  5. Press Power button to select.
  6. Press the Volume down key until ‘yes’ is highlighted and press the Power button.
  7. When the wipe cache partition is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted.

Secondo, go in Settings/applications/camera/stockage and empty the cache and data. If nothing works after yoy try those things, maybe you'll have to wait for a Samsung's update

Shaggyshunk1 or CHMultimedia could help on this also

NOTHING to do with your post, but ZMAHD wrote some article on photography. I don't know your experience in photography but it could help until CHMultimedia arrived :

this last one is talking about exposure :

You can find some tricks there

thanks. I studied photography years ago.
regardless though i am comparing this Samsung experience with previous Smartphones. This is the most disappointing so far (barring a fix).
just reviewed a picture of some text I took earlier. blurry, even with a flash.
Barring a fix, this is a really crappy camera.

I may approach Samsung about changing/upgrading (10e?) But I was assured by BestBuy sales staff the camera was better than my LG G6. not even close.
so the sensor is a software issue? when might we expect an update?
