Is it normal that device care doesn't automatically scan my phone ? I haven't noticed that until today, and it seems that my phone hasn't been scanned since the last time I did it manually

Yes, has to do it manually. No auto scan for device protection.

I have never enabled Samsung's Device Protection, on any device.

Personally I think that it's just a waste of resources. In more than a decade, running both Rooted & Non-Rooted devices, I have never, ever had any virus.

Android is not like a Windows pc, and the biggest proclaimers of Android viruses, are companies, selling anti-virus software.

My 2 cents.

I don't recall if they have auto scan or not. I don't use it.
