Emergency calls - we need to have to DIAL THE NUMBER, not just have a one-click button

Twice now, today, I accidentally dialed Emergency Services (ie, 911) with my phone in my pocket. As I take a step, my leg hits the phone, which is interpreted as dialing.

Looking into it more closely, I find out that your software is designed in a way that makes pocket dialing 911 MUCH more likely.

From the lock screen, when you click "Emergency call", instead of being taken to a dial pad where you are asked to type the number, there's a button that just automatically calls 911. If you hit that button (even accidentally), it calls 911.

Sure, this might save time in an emergency (a very, very, VERY tiny bit of time), but it also makes it astronomically more likely to accidentally dial 911 in error than it would be if we had a dial pad.

And, why didn't the "accidental touch protection", which is on, not kick in when my leg accidentally hit my phone while walking??

Please, please, PLEASE fix this issue, or give a way to turn it off so that we have to enter he number instead of just clicking on "call 911". Better yet, give the option of disabling "emergency calling" from the lock screen altogether.

Are you talking about Emergency SOS? 

You can Toggle it OFF in Settings > Safety & Emergency.

I have it turned off permanently, the phone is still doing the same stupid thing.

You could try to go to settings, display, then enable "protection against accidental presses"

That's done. I have now turned off display sensitivity and see if it works.
