UPDATE May 2023. Better late than never.

  • Credit where it is due and Samsung is due some credit .... One of the updates to my phone fixed this issue and now my friends and colleagues no longer comment that I sound like a robot on Bluetooth in my Honda

Thank you Sammy

Got a new a53 and it works well but it has an issue with Bluetooth connection in my Honda accord 2013.

It is not a problem with my Honda has my previous LG phone worked absolutely perfectly with it.

My a53 connects to my car just fine and plays music perfectly and connects calls perfectly also but my own voice is garbled by distortion when I try to speak to anyone over the phone.

This is almost certainly a software issue with the a53 as there would be much more reports if it was a problem with Android.

And yes you can find other people on the internet who have this exact same issue with the a53.

JJust just fix it please.

Peut-être qu'on devra lancer une action collective contre samsung. C'est vraiment ridicule. Ça fait des mois qu'on attend cette mise à jour.

Hello,I was on the phone this am Vancouver British Columbia with the engineering dept from the authorized repair company which Samsung told me to send my GalaxyA53 5g (re:Bluetooth robotic sounding) they checked my phone and told me the hardware is fine. THOUGH SAMSUNG IS WORK8NG ON A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE ISSUE .So if that is somewhat of a relief I take it it is a waiting game.

You are describing almost exactly what I am experiencing with my new A53. I never had this problem with my Galaxy 7, which was my previous phone. I have deleted and reconnected my bluetooth connection to no avail. I have not been able to use this phone in my car since I bought the phone several months ago. Very distressing.

Same phone, same issues, with 2016 Camry using OEM Entune Plus system. Upgraded to latest firmware for this system a year ago, so car is up to date. System is no longer supported by Toyota now, so that's as good as she gets.

Tried most of the same things others have tried on this thread, also no luck. Went to the Samsung mall kiosk, basically told us to update Android Auto, which is not an option as Entune is OEM. Later Camrys do have Android Auto, and apparently don't have a problem.

On the phone with Koodo customer support, and he was fairly technical, and actually started getting somewhere discussing Bluetooth versions on phones. So here is what we unearthed :

This is a legacy Bluetooth support issue. He told me these older Toyotas support Bluetooth 4.6ish. So what versions does the phone support? The Samsung A53 is running an 2022 Exynos 1280 chip, which supports Bluetooth 5.2. My older Samsung A51 is running a 2019 Exynos 9611 chip, which supports Bluetooth 5.0.  My A51 works fine in the Toyota.

So  not sure if this clears anything up, but this may be a Bluetooth 5.2 vs Bluetooth 4.6 backwards compatibility issue. The older Exynos chip whether due to the older standard, or just better support,  was backwards compatible, but seems like the latest 5.2 version has dropped the legacy support.  This is probably why Samsung hasn't responded. Of course they are not dumb, likely this was on their radar pre-silicon IMHO. So either Exynos has no fix for this, or not enough people are complaining to make a difference to Samsung.

After all, old Bluetooth technology...? Not their problem. Buy new **bleep**. If Samsung releases a software or firmware update, for us few people running old hardware,  to resolve this, I would be surprised. :(

I have the same issue.  I have a Totoya rav4 2018. My previous phones samsung 2 and moto g7 worked fine in the car.  The samong a53 doesn't.  I others fine but they say i sound like I I'm  underwater. Samsung please fix it. Defeats the purpose of hands free and actually could lead to car accidents.

Same issue in my 2018 rav 4 and the A53 but not in my wife's 2021 rav 4. She has the same phone and no issue. Also my previous phone a Stylo4 worked fine and my daughters A7 works fine.

I am having the same issue , i called Samsung and i sent my phone to the national repair center in Markham but not fixed. Samsung refused to act responsibly to this issue. I would like to sue Samsung for this but i need more people with me

When are you planning to act responsibly and fix this problem with your A53 phones? The national repair center in Ontario was unable to resolve this issue. It is unsafe to drive with this issue present. Samsung must be held responsible for my A3 defect. You must recall these phones from the markeT
