Why am i unable to turn this off and why is the app glitching like this? The first photo shows i am unable to remove a permission. Well, i am but it will not persist. I took a screenshot of the permission and the ability to highlight multiple choices.
I cannot shut it off in quick settings either.
I am using an SM-A546W with BMC CSC and January 2024 security update as well as January 2024 Google system update.
I am going to use ADB to remove the quick sharing feature in its entirety.
By the way, Samsung does not deem this phone to be worthy of having a Mobile Hotspot toggle in quick settings. I added it myself months ago. It appears in the second photo. Just mentioning this in case the validity of the image is questioned.
I am not.pleased with such behaviour from a company that tried pulling an Apple with their July 2023 security update (that did nothing for the Mediatek junk that Samsung spews and their Exynos chips while Qualcomm devices were protected until recently)... but cannot produce an app that clearly is malfunctioning on millions of phones.
Or, was i hacked? That'd be cool. I doubt it.
Ok so i removed a couple apk's and i get this when trying to turn off the toggle.
If you really want to disable Quick Share, use adb or a package disabler.
But you may well break something else.
I used Shizuku/wireless debugging and another app manager to remove 2 out of 3 apk's.
First pic is 2 removed and 2nd pic displays an apk not removable by adb
This is why i started rooting 10 years ago. Samsung seemed to be in the lead as far as addressing lots of the tweaks (never the bloat) that arose from that community (Dark mode etc).
But you and i are NOT the customers that Samsung cares about. It's the obsolete system we use that makes Bell and the rest the real customer.
So, we can't root our Samsung phones anymore if bought here.
That was a bit off, but 100% true.
