No AMBER Alert on Galaxy A5 (2017)?

A bunch of my friends and family recieved an AMBER Alert today, and I was the only one who didn't get one. I looked in Settings, Messages, and even online but couldn't find out how to turn them on.
Does anyone why it isn't working, and how to turn them on?

I'm using a Galaxy A5 (2017) with Android 7.0.

EDIT: This is my first post, so sorry if I did something wrong when posting this.

EDIT 2: After checking on Koodo's website, it appears that my phone is unsupported by the AMBER Alert system. I had no idea the alerts were different per cell phone provider. Thanks to all that helped me, though.

are you in Ontario and who is cell provider as it was Ontario and your carrier might not support your phone

Yeah, I live in Ontario. I use Koodo. My phone should be supported, since it's relatively new. I don't know for sure though.

I have someone in my house that had the a5 2017 and they got it

Normally you need to go in Messages, Scroll down, Emergency Alert settings. That's where it is on my phone

forget the root hack, I'm switching to koodo!!! thanks for the heads up. 4 obtrusive (anxiety filled) alerts in one day over stolen child custody does not qualify as an 'emergency'

Save yourself the headache and don't switch to Koodo over an issue like this.

I wouldn't be surprised if they had this sorted out by the end of the year.

it could be a feature called "cell broadcast" found in messages settings
