No text notification with audio on.

When playing music from my phone to my car speakers using Bluetooth I can't get text notification sounds. I get phone calls but not text notification sounds. Anyone else notice this. Is there a way around this? 

PS. To correct this I have to turn off "audio" in the Bluetooth pairing settings with my car. Then I can't play music from my phone to my car speakers. Thanks for any help.
