I have a galaxy tab A7 LITE , only after purchasing do I find out it's uncompatable with the accessibility feature I need... Screen reader and no not talk back (That has got to be the worst feature ever created) how is a device uncompatable to selectively read long paragraphs on a screen like text to speach? While having talk back? And why does samsung have such little accessibility anything? Not to mention how absolutely horrific support is

Hi unicorn666,

We certainly understand your frustration regarding the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and its lack of compatibility with the specific accessibility features you need.

If you just need a text-to-speech feature to selectively read text, here are some alternatives you could try:

Google’s Select to Speak:

  • Select to Speak allows you to select specific areas of text for the device to read out loud. This is different from TalkBack, which provides continuous screen reader support.
  • To enable Select to Speak: Go to Settings > Accessibility > Installed Services.
    1. Find and enable Select to Speak.
    2. Once enabled, you’ll have an accessibility shortcut (such as a button or gesture) to select and read the text on the screen.

This might be a good middle ground for what you’re looking for reading long paragraphs without the full screen reader experience of TalkBack.

It’s unfortunate that you’ve had a bad experience with Samsung support and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

Thank you.
