I have just bought an unlocked Galaxy A51 to replace my old Galaxy Grand Prime.  I have not decided whether to stay with my current provider (Telus)  so don't have a nano sim yet.  The Grand Prime uses a micro sim so no good with the A51.  My problem is that I would like to set up the phone using my home wifi  but I can't access anything until I install the new nano sim.

Is it possible to bypass the need for a sim and continue with the setup?

Not sure if this help. Press and hold volume down for 10 seconds, unblock message appear, click blue arrow to continue. Some people make it on A71 model.

Are you installing from a factory reset? If so you should find the option to connect to a Wi-Fi

The phone is brand new and right out of the box.  When I power it on, the first thing it wants me to do is to install a sim card which will allow me to enter the setup wizard.  I want to know if I can bypass the sim card installation and go straight into Settings and use wifi.  Very frustrating!

You should be able to connect to wifi, and use the phone without having to have the sim card in it. What does the first boot up screen looks like ? Does it have any other prompt on the screen ? If you're able take a picture of the screen and post it here
