I received an invalid call but the SPAM filter function did not identify this call as SPAM and it rang through.  The number is not valid.  I also have my phone set to ring for only known callers all others it doesn't ring. Why would this call get through?

Hi SamSungtwo,

You can take action against spam.

Before or after you've responded to a spam call, you can choose to block or report the number so you won't be harassed twice.

Tap ‘Block’ or ‘Report’ you wish to select and To report spam numbers, select the type of spam, write a comment and tap the ‘Report’ button.

I hope it will help.

You can report this number and Hiya will block the numbers in the future.

But sometimes it can be hard to stop those calls, bots/scammers will usually use a different caller ID.

Anyway to combat robo/spam calls is by enrolling Call Control from your carrier , what it does that it will ask the caller to pass a test by pushing a number to connect to your call. Currently Telus/Koodo subscribers can enroll this feature.

By activating this feature I expect at the very least that any invalid phone numbers would be flagged and blocked. This did not occur so why would I bother with contacting hiya?
