Bought a new phone last week as my one died on me. Wifi was no issue on old phone. Having issues with wifi on new phone. Since I've had the Samsung a12 with the latest update which was downloaded yesterday I've still been having issues even though it said the update was for wifi stability. I've tried everything. Cache cleared, forgot the wifi and linked again and done a system restart. Nobody else in the house has this issue. Any help would be appreciated although I've heard a lot of ppl having issues when they have updated there phone to latest update.

Hi Magikmike2021,
Please follow the steps below on your phone and get back to us with the results.

Activate the wifi on both devices, then search for the network on your phone and pair it.
Go to settings> Connections> Wifi> Activate >> Select a WiFi network as per your wish in the Available networks list and follow the on-screen instructions.

Please make sure that the devices are within 10-15 meters of each other.
If the problem persists, reset all the network settings to their defaults, Settings >> General management >>Reset>> Reset network settings>> Reset settings.
This will reset all network settings, including those for Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, Bluetooth.

  • Talked to someone from samsung online and they told me to try a few things.  As I said in the previous msg I've tried it all. Still nothing. Might just wait to see if they do another software update. Can't be my wifi as no one else is having this issue and I'm the only one with the update.

Hi Magikmike2012,
Just to confirm, have you performed the wipe cache partition of the device? If yes, please perform the factory data reset of the device. If you perform the factory data reset, it will give you as a new device. It will erase all data from the device.

Make sure to back up your device data by using the Smart Switch before hard reset, as it will erase all data. You may not be able to save the data if the screen is locked. Also delete all registered Google / Samsung accounts from the phone under Go to Settings >> Accounts >> Google or Samsung account >> Tap on your account >> tap 3 dots in the top right >> Delete account.

Smart switch transfers personal data as well as (contacts, timetables, memories, messages and call history) and photos, videos, alarms, favorites.

Preferences: you cannot transfer settings or data from the downloaded applications.

Procedure: 1. Download the Smart Switch to the computer. Install it and restart the computer.
2. Open the Smart switch. Connect your mobile phone with the computer via a USB cable.
3. You can see the 'Save' option.

Here is the smart switch link: https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/mobile-devices/samsung-galaxy-smartphone-how-to-back-up-your-devi...

Please follow the Factory data reset steps on your device.
Go to settings>>Global management>>Reset settings>>Factory data reset>>Reset.

Changed a wifi setting on my phone which has stabilised it alittle bit. Changed mac address type to phone mac. Still has a slight problem now and then but it's usable which is all I care about. Thanks for the help. Hopefully they bring out another patch.
