Trouble with receiving and making calls

I have a galaxy A22 phone and I am not able to make or receive calls ..not sure why....can anyone help?

Check with your mobile carrier first. Most likely your SIM card has not been activate.

Thanks that is odd because I have had the phone for over a year and have been using it and just a day or so ago it does not receive calls and I cannot make calls either

Check top right if you have signal from your cellphone. See my screenshot.

Yes U have the bars and nothing still

Power down the phone, take out sim card great, remove sim, wipe the card with a dry cloth and pop it back in the phone. Power the phone back up.
Go into settings -> connections -> mobile network -> network mode LTE

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone but I don't think the A22 supports 5g

For what it's worth, sometimes, if a simple restart isn't enough, or putting the phone in Airplane mode for maybe 10+ seconds, possibly longer the second time, try powering down the phone for 10+ minutes... I'm not sure if it's heat or what, but sometimes letting the phone cool down thoroughly seems to help.
