How do I check if my phone is unlocked ? I found out after purchased online that my phone is rooted will this affect capability of unlocking it

If you know which Carrier the person you purchased it from - Insert a SIM from a different Carrier - If it doesn't ask for an Unlock Code - Then it's already Unlocked - But since December of 2017 - Canadian Carriers cannot charge to Unlock devices....

If you got it in Canada all phones come unlocked now.

They will lock it out though if you try and sell it and not pay out the contract if owing on it just an FYI.
