After the recent updates, My Galaxy A53 phone is actually barely charging. before the update , if it was plugged and I was checking something for hours the charge wouldn't go down. now actually it drains the battery while charging. over night , the charge goes down. yes i checked the battery health changed multiple wires and adapters and also cleaned the port. same issue , this is really getting annoying .

Otherwise, I love this phone and which I got from the phone company as new . Thank you in advance

  • a) Try using a different USB cable & Charging Block.
  • Test the USB & USB Charging with the Diagnostics available on Samsung Members app.
  • Boot into Recovery & Wipe Cache.

Hi, we appreciate your efforts while trying all the possible ways to fix the charging issue on the device.

If you haven't tried to perform Wipe cache partition then, please perform Wipe cache partition by following the steps given below.

1.Turn off the unit.

2.Press and hold the volume up button and press and hold the on/off button. When the Android logo is displayed, release all keys ("Installing system update" is displayed before displaying the Android system recovery menu options).

3.Press the volume down key repeatedly to highlight "wipe cache partition".

4.Press the Power key to select. Press the Volume Down button to highlight "Yes" and press the Power button to select. When the wiping of the cache partition is completed, "Reboot System Now" is highlighted.

5.Press the Power button to reboot the unit.

If that doesn't work and the issue is still there, please perform backup and factory reset the device by following the steps in the given links.

Same with me. I got Galaxy Tablet A9 LTE, and it does not show the charging status. I already tried wipe cache partition, clear usb settings cache, repair apps, change usb cable, change power adapter, but no solution. When it is plugged, the battery will charge even slowly, but i really does take along time. Hence, the battery status still not showing if it charging. Tried plugin usb cable to my pc too, but nothing works. Looks like the usb port might have been broken out of the box or software issues. At this time, i really think Samsung start to losing fight with its competitor.

It's not an issue with my S23 Ultra One UI V6.1 June Security Patch.

English or French if you want help, but Booting into Recovery & Wiping Cache is simple & I always Wipe Cache after every Security Patch OTA.

From what level of charge?

From 38% on my S23 Ultra, it will take 48 minutes to reach 100%.
