I'm experiencing a serious issue with my Galaxy Book4 Edge 16" (1TB model) after a recent BIOS update. After installing the update, Windows 11 no longer detects the battery — it shows as if there's no battery installed, even though the laptop runs when plugged in. The charging icon is missing, and the system does not recognize or charge the battery at all.
I contacted Samsung technical support, but all they recommended was a laptop reset. I’ve already tried that along with the following steps:
- Resetting BIOS settings to default
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the battery drivers from Device Manager
- Performing a complete shutdown and static discharge
None of these steps resolved the issue, and it’s very clear this started immediately after the BIOS update — which strongly points to a firmware-level issue that cannot be resolved through basic troubleshooting.

We're continuing to monitor the situation closely and have escalated it internally. Hopefully, a future firmware update will address the root cause.

Galaxy BooksI'm having the same issue after installing BIOS version P00AKX.060 on my Galaxy Book 4 Edge last week. I have tried reinstalling Windows and the other recommended fixes above to no avail.

Galaxy BooksAlso having this exact issue after an update i received today. Completely bricked my galaxy book 4 edge. System SKU GALAXY A5A5-PAKY, after doing the bios update i cannot use the laptop without being connected to a wire.
