Galaxy BooksI was using my Samsung book 2 360 when my screen turned off. At that moment I still had about 80% battery left.
Also my keyboard light is off.
I have the impression that my status led is purple (though that colour is not mentioned in the manual).
Tried to force shutdown by holding the power button but that does nothing (I assume that samsung laptops are like other laptops I know where holding the power button forces a shutdown).
Atm the laptop is charging my tablet as I hope draining the battery will eventually shutdown the laptop.
Am I missing something?

Galaxy BooksDear, it happened the same to me... As the other user, I solved the issue after that the battery was completely discharged. After that, the laptop started again as if nothing had happened, leaving me with a lot of doubt regarding the reliability of this product !!!! Where did this problem come from? It could happen again? is there some driver update in this regard? It is pretty disturbing that at any moment, the pc can do such a thing for no reason.
@OvergeefDave: Did it happen to you again?

Galaxy BooksYes it happen to my new Galaxy book2 pro 386 only 7 months old, now the 2nd time it doesn't start again was the battery part of the problem? I notice part of the book2 feel hot, maybe because it won't shot down, could be part of the problem, not sure.

Galaxy BooksHaving the same problem now and they want me to send it for repair. What's odd is that even though it's on, it neither Microsoft or Samsung can "locate" the device and it even says the location services were disabled 10 days ago and I never made any changes that would have affected that. Also, not sure if anyone else who is having this issue has/had the "smart battery life" feature turned on that only charges the battery to 80% (when plugged in most times, the feature keeps the battery at 80% or below and is supposed to provide a longer battery life.) Since I can't turn the device on I can't remember exactly what the feature is called.
Hoping that draining the battery just like others in this conversation have done will resolve my issue as well. But since the screen isn't on which takes the most power, I'm not sure how long it's going to take to drain the battery...

Galaxy BooksI have a samsung galaxy chromebook and running into this same issue. Will be draining battery until I try and restart it. What is this. This is supposed to be a premium device.
How do you even drain the battery? I plugged into my phone and all it did was that my phone was charging the laptop.

Galaxy BooksI just had the same problem on my Galaxy Book2 360. In my case, the laptop immediately shut off and turned on the purple light when I placed it on another laptop that was plugged in. Seemed like it was triggered by static electricity. I could not get it to turn back on and had to wait until the next day when it apparently ran out of juice and the light turned off. Only at that point could I plug it in and get it to turn on. How can I trust this laptop?? If I were on a business trip I would have been in big trouble!

Galaxy BooksSame problem here; in into what seems like sleep mode. I was using, step away and came back with a black screen and purple light. Called Samsung followed there instructions which weren't much and was given UPS instructions for return for repair. I have tons of data on the laptop so the last thing I want is to send in for repair. I have had this laptop least than a month and only used a few days; can't believe it's already crashed. How do you drain the battery? Thanks

Galaxy BooksHad this same issue with the Black Friday purchased Galaxy Book2 360. One day it just got really choppy. I just closed it and noticed the purple light. When I opened it later, the screen wouldn't come on but they keyboard light was on and stayed on.
Reached out to Samsung support and they just created a mail in label. But I found this thread and followed the advice to just let the battery drain and then start it up. Luckily it only took a day. Next day everything worked fine.

Galaxy BooksHappened the second time now for me on my Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360. It's not frequent, last time was a few months ago, but it's annoying, especially since it's my work laptop and it is not especially nice to start a workday on Monday morning, and your computer doesn't turn on.
Last time I fixed it by opening it up and detaching/reattaching the battery.
Are there any plans for a more permanent solution, like a BIOS update? This is quite unacceptable otherwise.
Having to carry a set of tools to open it up at any time is not exactly a great solution.
