Hi, I have birthdays entered for my contacts, but I don't get any notifications. I use the stock Samsung calendar. I also have birthdays checked off in the alerts, in the Samsung calendar settings. The stock Samsung calendar displays the birthdays, but it doesn't give me a notification when a birthday comes up.
Have you enabled notification for the calendar app in settings? Please check by following the below steps.
Please Open Settings>>Notificattions>>Click on three dots on right top >>Show System app>>Calendar, Check whether it is enabled or not. If it is not enabled then enable it.
When you say copied to samsung account. Does that mean you had to save all your contacts on the phone memory instead of Google account ?? Or does this refer to a Samsung cloud account.
No every time when saving new contact, which memory are you saving the contacts to?
Thanks for the replies. I figured it out. I have my phone sync'd to my Google account and Samsung account. My contacts are all under the google account. So I copied the contacts to my Samsung account as well. Now I'm getting notifications. It seems, google doesn't give notifications for birthdays, so I guess that's why I never got notifications, even though the birthdays were showing up correctly on my Samsung calendar sync'd to my google account. So the birthday notifications settings in the Samsung calendar only applies to contacts that are sync'd to the Samsung account.
Can you please tell me step by step how you did as i am having same problem, do i need to move my contacts from google to samsung account as there is no option for copying in contacts app. I am a new user shifted from iphone 7 to s21 plus. I want that birthday reminders they are very important as i keep forgetting birthdays.
I was having the same problem. I juz firgure out how to move from google to samsung cloud but i haven test if the notification work cuz i still cant see the reminder setting in my calender.
- Go to samsung contact app ( not contact tab from phone app )
