I don't know when this happened and only recently was able to fix that same problem from myblaptop, but I can't fix this. I have to set the network's SSID to broadcast and then I'm able to connect. But when I stop broadcasting it, wifi

I have put in all of the parameters correctly, but still no luck.

Can anyone help me?

Hi Furious1964,

Please reboot the device and check. sometimes a simple reboot will fix the issues.
Try to connect with other phone and check.

If the issue still persists then you can Reset Network Settings:
Go to Settings >> General Management >> Reset >> Reset Network Settings >> Reset settings.

This will reset all network settings, including those for Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, Bluetooth.

get back to us with the result.

Reset the moden,
reset phone network,
rebooted phone,
forgot, remade and then repeated the network setup 4 times,
broadcast SSID, remade network setup and then hid network,
have no other phone to test with and my laptop no longer has the problem.

OK, I've narrowed down the problem: the OS does not list my home network in the "Turn WIFI On Automatically" setting and it also has a problem locating my network when MAC Filtering is turned on in the Modem/Router.

When MAC Filtering is off, it connects, but the "Turn WIFI On Automatically" setting only lists my work network and not home.

This is a major problem for the OS.

FYI: I just tested in Safe Mode and still the same problem.

We however ask that when you do contact us try to be as detailed as possible so that an accurate assessment can be made and the correct solution can be given.

I got a real noodle twister. With Wifi on a non-broadcast SSID the Note 9 will connect if you setup the connection. After that it will not reconnect. Go out of range and come back – no connection, turn off wifi turn it back on – no connection, airplane mode off then back on – no connection. Turn on a broadcast SSID **bleep** connects every time no issue. I have a Note 4, no issues, Note 2014, no issues, Note 3, no issues, Note 8, no issues, only the Note 9 won’t freely connect to the non-broadcast SSID.
