I've tried EVERYTHING to change my Samsung Account email address & absolutely NOTHING will let me. My original email address when I purchased my Galaxy phone many years ago, still has my very old email address I used years ago & it really screws up everything on my phone & drives me nuts! Any idea what I can do about this would be greatly appreciated. I'm not ignorant & have followed the web instructions, yet nothing will let me change it. Thx.

Hi Terriyacki,

We understand how frustrating this can be, and we’re here to help clarify.

At this time, Samsung does not support changing the primary email address associated with an existing Samsung Account. The email used when the account was originally created is permanently tied to that account as a unique identifier.

If you’ve changed email addresses and would like your Samsung Account to reflect that, the only available option is to create a new Samsung Account using your current email. To do this:

  1. Go to Settings > Samsung account

  2. Tap the menu icon and select Sign out (you’ll need your current account password)

  3. Back up any important data before signing out (Samsung Cloud, Notes, Gallery, etc.)

  4. After signing out, go to Settings > Samsung account > Add account

  5. Create or sign in with a new Samsung Account using your preferred email

Please note that data synced to your old account will not carry over automatically. You may want to back up and manually transfer anything important before making the switch.

We appreciate your feedback on this limitation, and we’ll pass it along to the appropriate team.

Thank you.
