custom phone number names

Does anyone know a way of having a custom name under your contacts for phone number show up when that person calls

Example I have a company contact they have multiple people calling me I have the person's name next to the number when they call how can I get. To show up so I know who's calling from that company. I have a Note 8

Unless it's a direct line from the individual I don't think that it's possible from any extension..

not a extension it' would be a cell phone they all have

Are you saying that they share a common phone number? (which I don't think is possible?) or it's a cell phone provided by the company? If so just save that number(s) in your Contacts & save with the name for that number.

If it's a personal cell phone then the name you assign to it will display but if it's a work cell that multiple users use then you can place each name in the space..

you can place each name in the space for a custom name but when that person text's or calls there name does not come up even though there number does just the company contact name does.

I'm not saying they share a common number all numbers are different.
I don't want to have 30 different contacts for a company when I just want there custom name to display when they call

Go to your Contacts & the Company Name - Click on the "+" to add individuals who work at that company & then Add their name & number - Looks like you can add as many names as you need - That should work for you 🐧

yes you can add as many as you want and when you receive a phone call from them the name of that number will come up but when you do text messages it will not is there a way for it to come up with text messages as well thanks for your help

that's not the header name it always comes up it's under that there's a phone number and then the name beside that number
