Edge lighting doesn't work when screen off. Tried it with the message app, gmail, email... No support email.

Same thing with edge lighting+, it doesn't work at all even when screen on. Why are you making apps that doesn't work with no support contact?

It's not that it doesn't work, you probably don't understand how to use it. Just set it to Always in the settings and make sure the apps are selected under Manage Notifications.

Yup - User error is the number one problem!

Yeah, it's all on. like I said, it works only when screen on, not off. and edge lighting+ doesn't work on either.

Nope. was the same since I first got the note 9 and s9+ for my wife. factory defaulted and has two different accounts tested and still the same thing... many other users on Google search to fix this issue has same problem. our phone is Snapdragon, Canadian carrier... no other settings can conflict with this. also, tried face down and up. Tried disabling / re-enabling, uninstalled... any other suggestions?

Hey @ToddMan, as you have already tried looking at your settings and other solutions, please take it to a Service Center so that the device can be physically inspected to gather more information.

I fixed it. maybe you guys should be a bit more thorough about your app troubleshooting... to get it to work you need to disable any app that has pop-up or floating notification when screen is on as it conflicts with each other. this is why Facebook or WhatsApp may have a bit more trouble getting it to work. so, for screen edge lighting, you need to disable LED notification as it needs to wake up screen method and AOD may conflict. turn off led in the specific app or LED altogether. that should fix for all app and edge lighting when screen off.

I can understand most case it's " user error" but doesn't help mentioning that without any advance troubleshooting. this is like saying, it's your fault deal with it, I don't know how else to help you. just the same as " send it to service tech" . it's all software, so I'm sure if it can be fix without having to bring it to service tech every time and waste a compete day or two without a fix and possibly get another device with same software issue.
