I have a Samsung Note 9 and a Gear VR Model SM-R325. They don't work together. It seems, from everything I've seen, that Samsung is providing an adapter GH81-16186A to make them work together. So far so good. BUT, I spent almost three hours on the phone over two days with Samsung Canada, trying to get them to send me the part, or even allowing me to BUY the part, to no avail! I have to admit I've dealt with lost of Customer Support people over the years, but I have yet to find anything THAT frustrating! It seems that because I bought my Note 9 outside Canada, Canadian Samsung Support cannot help me! I thought all these years that Samsung is an international company! It seems they're not. It's not an issue with the hardware or software, the adapter works on all Note 9 devices. It's just that they won't help me because my Note 9 is not purchased in Canada, even though I live in Canada. So frustrating!! They won't even let me BUY the adapter! Can ANYONE at Samsung (or elsewhere) help me please! I would love to use my Gear VR again. Thank you!!

@RichMan But is it really grey market - I mean if he was living in Germany & wanted to buy a Samsung device & then moved to Canada or anywhere else for that matter - When he purchased it - It was in his local Country...

I agree that this isn't cool but that's how business works. Or else, this system may be abused to take advantage of specific policies and laws (i.e: in Europe, electronics have a minimum 2 year warranty). This may also create deficits (people buy from Europe, get repaired in Canada. S Canada won't generate money and will lose money, while in Europe the company will thrive. This may lead to the closure of the local arm since it's losing money)

@ShaggyskunkS9P that's true bro. But the odds of that happening are very very rare. But I agree Samsung could make an exception for that case.
Ultimately @CHMultimedia is completely correct tho. Samsung do think and makes decisions from a bigger business perspective. If we do understand that we can't blame Samsung.

every region/ country had different promotions so I understand why Samsung Canada doesn't want to get involved. Ultimately it isn't their product to service, however it would be a great gesture if they would help you out. However, what happens if you end up having an issue with the product. Really from a business perspective it is best to let those responsible for a service deal with it.
