gmail won't stop syncing

I have a galaxy note 9 and for the last few months I constantly get a notification saying my gmail is synching. I've tried to unsynch but then won't get any new emails. It's a bit of a nuisance so any help would be greatly appreciated

Make sure you are using the latest version of Gmail - Go to Settings - Apps - Check that have allowed Storage Permissions for Gmail - Clear Cache for Gmail & Force Stop Gmail - Reboot & See if the issue is resolved.

Since I have a S10 and Android 10, I have notification problems with Gmail,so I use the Samsung's app and no more problem.

Me neither, I tried many times to make work correctly, but nothing to do. That's why I switched to Samsung's.

Please try the steps suggested by @Shaggyskunk1 and if that doesn't help get back to us.

@Jeremie: Like I said earlier, I tried everything and nothing really worked. No time to waste trying.  The important is I get my e-mails and be notified .

so I did the recommended steps and it worked for 2 days. it's still synching

I'm wondering if the problem is related to the network speed.

I have had a curious issue where i send a message and gmail closes.
