Samsung recently made changes to Edge Lighting. If you want edge lighting to work, you need to turn on "show as pop-up" in the notification settings for each app you want to use edge lighting. But there's a problem with that. If you turn on, "show as pop-up," it shows the preview of your message. So when your sharing your phone's display, like when your showing videos or pictures to people, and a message comes in, they can see a preview of the message. That isn't good for privacy. The Samsung messages app allows you to turn off previews, and it works, so that's good. But the email app doesn't let you do this. Other apps like whatsapp, also let you turn off previews within the app. But when you turn off previews within an apps settings, like whatsapp, it also ends up turning off the "show as pop-up" in the phone's notification settings. So this ends up stopping edge lighting from working for whatsapp. Please fix this issue, where edge lighting is tied to the "show as pop-up setting." Before you were able to go into a 3rd party app, like whatsapp, and turn off message previews, and edge lighting would still work. It's not like this anymore.
