Hi, did anyone notice that their N20U displays somewhat sub-par videos? Comparing to my previous and current devices, playing the same source file, the Note20 Ultra gives me the impression of poorer image quality, as if the decompression was bad. There are visible artifacts and visible blocks (that's how H.264/H.265 compression is done). Colours are also way off. This was observed on high image quality media.

I'm using the stock video app, though it also happens on VLC. Standard framerate, Vivid mode, QHD resolution (exactly as my previous devices, Note9 and Note10+). I never had this issue with previous devices. I could easily change between my phone and my Tab S6 to watch things and it would give me the same stellar image quality. I've checked and Video Enhancer (or whatever it's actually called in English) is disabled.

Audio output is also disappointing.

Interesting.... so this is quality video that was sourced elsewhere, and imported into N20U, and renders poorly?

Is the file parked on the SD card? or internal?

Internal. The files' integrity is normal. Copying from my N20U to my Tab S6, the Tab S6 renders properly.

FWIW I brought in (via onedrive offline sync) a 382mb 4k video (taken from N10+), and it rendered as expected.

Just one sample though, and taken from a samsung source.

Nah, it's not a video recorded from a camera. It's multiple episodes from various shows.

Hi CHMultimedia,
I suggest you to verify the video file in different screen resolutions to diagnose the issue.
Navigate to Settings. Then, search for and select Screen resolution. Choose your desired resolution, and then tap Apply.
If the issue persists, I suggest you to add the screenshots of your devices for reference.
We will consider it as valuable feedback.

I've tried in HD+, FHD+ and QHD+. It happens on all resolutions.

I can't share screenshots since that's copyrighted work, but the issue is significant.
