Any idea on how to solve the issue that once I did the update I could no longer get my phone working as a mobile hotspot?

It let's me toggle the switch on. In some cases
let's devices connect to the hotspot network. In all cases the connected computer can't actually use the hotspot even if it successfully connects to the hotspot.

Thank you for any temporary tips or true solution.

Hi, we would like to tell you please follow these steps:

Verify your account is in good standing with your carrier and make sure that you have the correct data plan.

Most mobile service providers require you to have an additional Hotspot plan on your account.

Hotspot and tethering may not be available through some carriers.

If you have recently changed carriers, tethering may not work because the function cannot contact your previous carrier.

Verify that mobile data is currently enabled and is working properly on your phone.

Thanks for replying. I've been tethering for a long time with this provider. My plan includes upto 100gb hotspot.

My thought is this is directly related to the update to ui 5.0 as I tether relatively frequently and the first time after the update I try to tether and it won't work.

I will try calling my provider though as sometimes flashing the account solves hotspot issues.

Rogers certainly doesn't require any special "HotSpot" plan, at least they never have with me.

You could try going to Settings > General Management > Reset & Reset Network Settings & Reboot warning ⚠️ You'll need to know your passwords ⚠️

As you said, contacting your Carrier can't hurt.

Well the reset thing is what they suggested. They did say they have heard of some people complaining the akst couple of days about issues after the update. Wasnt sure though if it was the tethering issue I am having. Phone is reset. Will see what happens once home.

I always Factory Reset after EVERY Android Version Update & never had any issues... that's Factory Reset, not just Network reset.
