The note 7 running on snapdragon 820 has serious performance issues. This has affected my recalled Note 7 and the New Note 7 and many do mention this online. The Snapdragon 820 is not optimized enough to be used in a 1000$ Note 7. I would rather prefer the Exynos 8890 SoC inside.

In day to day usage I can see clear throttle / lag / slowing down in various apps. There are a lot of jitters and stuttering issues found. The Note 7 freezes time to time. Games like Tsum Tsum will see throttling in performance and this is seen as a lot of stuttering. please keep in mind that the device did not get hot at all (there should be no reason to slow down).

I also feel cheated having a Quad core processor which is unoptimized for us Note 7 users vs the international Exynos variants which include an Octa core but the important thing is that Samsung really optimized the octa core performance as it is in house.

I have cleared all apps. Optimized settings through device management. I have also restarted my phone on many occassions. This did nothing to solve my issues.

Even more troubling... seeing that Both (recalled and new) of my Note 7s running the unoptimized Snapdragon 820 exhibits the same problems I can only blame Samsung for using such a bad chip set and not their own Exynos. The note 5 running exynos in Canada had superb performance and never stuttered during its use. I never had to clear apps nor optimize anything. It felt and worked good as a 1000$ device should!

The Snapdragon 820 chip found in Canada and U.S. alone is not optimized at all for the Note 7 by Samsung. It is sad to see my Note 5 perform better than my Note 7. On the contrary my coworker who imported the FD variant of the Note 7 (exynos version) compared his with mine... What was Samsung thinking? Samsung Canada said there shouldnt be any noticeable differences. Ya right. The snapdragon variant shows so much stutter. lag. delay when switching to an already opened app from RAM. and throttling in games (The phone was not hot at all)
His Note 7 was so smooth and showed no stuttering at all... this made me feel bad as a Note 7 owner. For 1000$ we should be treated the same. Instead we are asked to pay the same premium price and to bear with an unoptimized Snapdragon 820.

I am disappointed in the Note 7. I will sell this phone and import an Exynos variant since Samsung doesnt know how to listen to their customers.

Agreed, I too have noticed these issues.

I know Samsung support reps can't do much about this. So it is quite frustrating... I used the Note series since the Note 3. I appreciate the various software and feature upgrades so far. I cant make do without the S Pen. However, if the Note 8 still contains am unoptimized Snapdragon SoC instead of the Exynos SoC I will stay on the N7 exynos. The amount of time and effort a loyal customer has to jump hoops for is quite ridiculous.

Sigh Samsung is just too big to really listen to a small niche part of their loyal customers.

For me personally Id probably downgrade to the Note 4 at this point. I cant go without the S pen. Samsung is the only manufacturer who got the stylus right.
