Just pulled from a mobile syrup article that apparently Note 7 Users will receive a discount if they choose to purchase the Note 8. No other confirmed details but that's pretty exciting to hear. MobileSyrup is a Canadian Based blog site so it should mean it's offered to Canadians as well!
Update: In the US it's a trade offer which is only offered through Samsung and not carrier yet at least. The US trade offer is that you can get up to 425$ by trading in your current device. In Canada that would translate to roughly 530$. Which means that the most likely device to hit the max is the S8+ which means it's still not a great offer but better than the current trade in value of $350 for the S8+ in mint condition.
a lot of questions arise from this... what happens if your in a contract now... If you had to get a new contract because of note 7 issues... and no doubt more to follow..... Think carriers would have to get involved too.

will it be before pre order deals ends.. cause most of note 7 owners were the ones who pre ordered the device to get first hands on the device. we expect the same in case of note 8.. we want our hands first on new note 8 device.. if deal is not updated yet, how are the chances we get to use note 8 on launch.. is there any way we can pre order now and on the later date once note 7 owner promotion is live we can avail that promotion.. any specific date when the promotion will be on.. any specific details on what will be the promotion??
