replacement S Pen not connecting.

I had to replace my s pen when i dropped my Note 9 and my old one popped out somewhere. I bought my replacement drom Best buy, and it even says samsung on it. My issue is I cant reset my spen to connect the new one and I dont understand why. It's actually very disheartening to know how much im paying for this phone for it not to work properly. The pens capabilities are the reason I bought this phone in the first place. Someone please help!!

Please try the following:
click Settings → Advanced Features → S Pen → S Pen Remote

Ensure the new s-Pen is inserted into the Galaxy Note device, then tap the 3 horizontal dots and select " Reset S Pen"

The inserted S Pen will automatically pair to the Galaxy Note device .

it is still not connected, please help, I hate to say that it looks like Note 9 is a waste of replacement spen doesn't work, I am discouraging to buy it
