I've tryed the fonctionnality, but I see that it can only been used as a killswitch to block app per app traffic ... is it normal or a bug?

Hi CyberYan,

This is normal behavior to some extent. The Samsung Secure Wi-Fi feature provides encryption and enhanced security for your internet traffic, but it also allows you to control per-app traffic. This functionality is part of the design to give users control over which apps utilize Secure Wi-Fi. By default, Secure Wi-Fi works on all apps unless you customize the settings to block certain apps.

However, if you find that the feature is acting only as a kill switch without providing encryption or security options, this could indicate an issue.

Verify Secure Wi-Fi Settings. Go to Settings > Connections > Secure Wi-Fi. Ensure that the Secure Wi-Fi Protection toggle is enabled. Check the Manage Apps section to verify how traffic is being controlled for individual apps.

Test Secure Wi-Fi Functionality. Connect to a public Wi-Fi network. Enable Secure Wi-Fi and verify if it encrypts traffic (you should see a key icon in your status bar or notifications). If it’s only blocking traffic without encrypting, this could be unintended behavior.

Perform Clear cache for secure Wi-Fi. Restart your phone and test again.

Report the Behavior. If the issue persists and Secure Wi-Fi doesn’t behave as expected, we recommend submitting a report via the Samsung Members app: Open Samsung Members > Support > Send Feedback > Error Reports.

Thank you.

It is basic and very cheap monthly.

Some applications, such as government (federal or Ontario) sites, may complain about a VPN when filling out digital forms via your browser.

I recently bought a Wi-Fi router from Goodwill's thrift shopping bins store. I tried setting it up to connect with Samsung Secure Wi-Fi, but the connection keeps dropping intermittently. I'm unable to maintain a stable Wi-Fi connection, and it’s affecting my device performance.

Possible Causes:

The router may be outdated or not fully compatible with Samsung Secure Wi-Fi.

There might be a firmware issue or outdated software on the router that prevents it from establishing a stable connection.

The router’s configuration settings could be incorrect, or there might be interference from nearby devices.
