One feature i use alot is the spen but ever since the oneUI update my phone would lock after x time and since I have my spen out i would press the button to unlock the phone and go to home screen. Simple.
But now after finally taking the plunge to update when first removing the pen the first unlock when u try to use the spen it only lets u unlock the phone using biometrics first. After that you can use the spen to unlock the device.
This is so annoying and almost as bad as after restart u gotta use the password.
I think most agree a backup and factory reset before a major update is the most -headache (because you have to back your device up with smartswitch) and headachelessness 🤣lol (because it removes silly glitches)
Short of doing that which we shouldn't have to do anyway 🤦
Please try to Wipe the cache partition and check if the issue is resolved. As mentioned by @mytech, and follow the link provided by @mytech, for the steps of wipe cache partition.
factory reset is my last resort. before update I did wipe cache partition then after update another then setup everything to my liking and seeing if I'm losing any settings then a final cache partition.
I didnt notice this glitch until 2 weeks after my update because I was using the spen to take pictures with but the phone locked so I was spamming the spen button then realize no photos were taken =(
Hi apparitor, do you use AOD or google smart lock? Is it your phone supposely won't lock itself up? According your message said it locks after x times.
@tallman sorry I meant to put the phone locks after x time meaning I have it set to lock after 1min or 2 mins or 5mins etc etc "x" is the variable. yes I use AOD but on tap to wake and no Google smart lock or anything. otherwise phone locks it self perfectly since I got it no issues there and still the same after updating.
But yes after 2 more days of trying to see if I can somehow get around it, doesn't work as before update. Everytime I take out the pen the first unlock requires the usual biometrics and password after that i can use the spen button to unlock the device or i can wake the phone and it shows its unlock by spen which is something new to me.
