Whatsapp Folder not available to Sync via Samsung Gallery OneDrive Sync

Suddenly after some update either to onedrive or gallery or android, whatsapp albums do not appear in the albums available to sync with onedrive.

Further testing shows that any folder with pictures inside the Android folder no longer appears as albums available to sync.

This is extremely frustrating because google photos can still sync whatsapp albums. I still prefer gallery sync bc on my pc the albums appear as folders vs Google photos that just backups all device albums as one directory

Whatsapp has a significant userbase, and the fact that sync is not available for these albums/folders/directories is just the constant frustration with samsung and microsoft. Just tiny reasons that add up (including the 1gb file size limit) over time for me to drop Samsung altogether and move to Apple. Like just work.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the WhatsApp again?

I think this is not because of any issue in Samsung Gallery. I do remember that there was a separate WhatsApp folder in the My Files section. Now that folder is not there. It is moved inside Android > media > com.whatsapp. I think Samsung Gallery Albums to sync does not scan the Android folder, that's why whatsapp folder is not coming up. But I do see all the whatsapp files in the Samsung Gallery though. Samsung must fix this to provide custom folder path to sync to One Drive

Still not fixed. Also problems with gallery pictures and video dates Samsung gallery and onedrive old pictures are labeled as today...

I have the same problem ! I thought it was the phone I purchased. I just bought my phone two days ago. Has Samsung fixed this? I have like 3000 photos and videos from whatsapp that I can't sync with onedrive. I am still on time to change my phone to an IPhone

Same issue here, please allow synching the media/com.whatsapp folder. I don't think WhatsApp will change back their default directory or allow moving it, so it's up to Samsung...

Same issue for me since I reset my phone. The albums whatsapp photo and videod appears in samsung gallery but not able to sync to cloud solution Onedrive or G drive, not able to copy on another SD storage or pc. Clearly a big problem if whatsapp account lost or terminate without notice not able to retrieve your family files photos on the crypted memory of the phone folders

Hope will be fix very soon if not will change to another communicatoon service with many people, discuss between samsung android and whatsapp is hard necessary for this topic
