Whatsapp Folder not available to Sync via Samsung Gallery OneDrive Sync

Suddenly after some update either to onedrive or gallery or android, whatsapp albums do not appear in the albums available to sync with onedrive.

Further testing shows that any folder with pictures inside the Android folder no longer appears as albums available to sync.

This is extremely frustrating because google photos can still sync whatsapp albums. I still prefer gallery sync bc on my pc the albums appear as folders vs Google photos that just backups all device albums as one directory

Whatsapp has a significant userbase, and the fact that sync is not available for these albums/folders/directories is just the constant frustration with samsung and microsoft. Just tiny reasons that add up (including the 1gb file size limit) over time for me to drop Samsung altogether and move to Apple. Like just work.

Same issue for me.  I tried all solutions posted online in different forums and also Samsung support.  Nothing worked.  It is very frustrating even Samsung support cannot fix the problem.

Yes it happened to me too. What app was syncing to my computer and One Drive then from January this year onwards nothing! There's no point sharing photos with family on what's app if you can't find them in a Samsung Gallery Folder the same way you can find Instagram and Messenger photos.  How is his ab improvement Samsung? 😳  Frustration plus.

Happened to me just yesterday, it was working for a month and now all albums (WhatsApp, Viber etc.) disappeared outside of standard one and QR

It's nothing device related unfortunately. Onedrive and or gallery does not have the rights to backup that internal folder. It's a simple update in their end. Please fix asap

This is just Samsung being Samsung... being ridiculous and create issues where there wasn't any. It is ridiculous to the point that I see the cloud icone in the album folder and when I click and get to the list of uploadable folders, this one isn't there. I'll try submiting a case via the gallery app...

Unfortunately it's not an issue, it's by design
