Always excited to get the latest phone. Always disappointed that for all the fancy marketing, Samsung still hasn't figured out how to make the keyboard type properly. Oh well, back to Gboard and SwiftKey. .

Hi chaton,

We appreciate your excitement for the latest Samsung devices and understand that the typing experience is an important part of daily use. We recognize that personal preference plays a big role in choosing the right keyboard for you.

If there's anything specific you’d like to see improved in the Samsung Keyboard, feel free to share with us. We will pass it along to our development team!

Thank you.

Use keys cafe(good luck) and customize the keyboard however you like.

The options are nearly limitless.

Yes, I love keys cafe! That's the issue. I would love to use it and I customize my keyboard with the colors I want and the keys I want. But then the typing is so horrible that I give up and go back to my boring but reliable Gboard.

You can adjust the key size and board size to fit your fingers as well. What is it doing wrong?

I tried all of those things. Modifying the key sizes to make sure I don't hit them. Etc ..it is just too poor typing. I guess it depends on what you use it for. I use it for business and I type a lot and fast. It can't keep up with my typing. Gboard and SwiftKey , no problem. They correct all my fat finger typos.

That's the point, you don't need to customize gboard. I really wanted to use the Samsung keyboard to enjoy some of the rich AI features but the experience was rather poor and I ended up having to switch back to gboard

Helena, are you kidding me? Samsung hasn't had a decent keyboard since they redesigned it a few years ago. It is not a question of preference, it is just no usable. To use the Samsung keyboard, you have to be either very patient or using one finger and a letter at a time. Or just never heard of other keyboards. My two cents:
1. Text prediction is very poor in any single language.
2. Multi language typing is non existent. You can't get past hello, and how are you? Before the typing starts going sideways.
3. Swipe typing is a game, where you are wondering what word the keyboard will come up with after you swipe and then laugh or cry.
4. I still don't know what AI brought to that keyboard. Other than rewriting my sentences, but not much value there for me.
5. The developers really need to work on this. I don't think this has been a priority for Samsung, which is a pity because one would prefer to stay within the ecosystem of apps.

I agree with your feedback for sure, the swipe keyboard was my biggest pain point very unreliable compared to gboard. It seems to have a mind of its own. You can't be certain of what word it will come up with for the same swipes

Yes. It's too bad. I keep upgrading devices hoping for a miracle with the keyboard. 😂 Hard to believe Samsung doesn't have that under control at this point. 😂
