Hi,

I'm not able to see 5G connection in my mobile network, telus tell me that I covered by 5G in my neighborhood so I shoud be able to see 5G connections.

Any other telus users here. Or someone who can help me with that ?

Thanks,

So it's exactly as I said. Disabled by CSC. You'll get it via the next update probably. Though it wouldn't hurt to ask them if you need a new SIM for 5G of yours isn't up to date or something.

Still, don't worry much about it. It's still 5G NSA, so it's little more than glorified LTE-A with slightly higher network capacity.

Hi    Samsung_tbh3o4U, I don't use Telus and I have no 5G phone. But what I've found from internet is...if you have 5G network, you should have a choice to choose 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM (Auto Connect). Maybe it is not covered in your area even thou Telus said it is covered.

Tried go to another location that is 100% sure has 5G covered. If 5G shows up, that means your neighborhood area has no 5G cover. If 5G not show when you are on a 5G area, then you better check with Telus.

hi,

thanks for the answer. I already have an open ticket with telus's technical service. I will walk downtown to see if 5g shows up.

To me it looks like it's disabled by CSC. So just wait for the next update to enable it. Location won't change the availability of the 5G mode.

Here's the coverage map though: https://www.telus.com/fr/mobility/network

In the telus's map, my neighborhood is shown as covered and the technical support has confirmed with my post code.

What does your CSC say? It should be TLS. If it's not, you can change it via a dialer code.

As for 5G. It's only Sub-6, so it's not exactly fast. I did some speed tests with my Ultra on Rogers 5G, and the speeds were SLOWER than LTE-A speeds.
