Who else is using up a ton of Android OS background data even though alllllll sync is off, everything possible set to wifi regarding updates, factory reset network reset. i even have a vpn going and stilll android os consuming a ton of data. Never had this issue before.
I have the same problem. Mine appears to be running email in the back ground. I backed up my files to my laptop, then unplugged the phone from the computer and reset the phone to factory settings. Then plugged phone back into computer and reinstalled the files. It has worked for a couple of months then I received some large email files then data shot up again. Be aware that if you have any games on it that I lost the levels I was at and had to start over. It is a real pain in the ....! Never had this problem with the s4!
just did update on s6 now I'm not sure how to get small triangle symbol that use to appear in the top left corner of phone that indicated that apps where not using any data unless you are in a WiFi zone. IT HAS DISAPPEARED and i can't figure out to enable restrict data feature. my phone is using data unnecessarily!!........can anybody help ?? .........wish i never updated!!
