I can't find a way to word this properly in a Google search so I thought I'd ask in a more elaborate way here.
I want apps to use the notification sounds the designers made for the apps. For example, Google Hangouts, Facebook Messenger, and Discord all have their own sounds which are specific to the type of notification you are receiving.
On my old Google phone, these sounds were all listed and usable as general notification sounds I could apply to any app at any time, but were also enabled on the apps they're built for as soon as said apps were installed.
On the S20+ there is nothing but factory default sounds (except the Hangouts video call sound) even after installing apps that should come with their own sounds. Further, all such apps have the generic Default Notification sound applied to them.
Is there any way to let these apps use their own sound that doesn't involve painstakingly installing all these apps' notification sounds individually and manually hooking them up to the notification type for which they were designed in the first place.
Hello Bagginses, I am curious if you were able to find a solution to your issue. I got my S21 ultra few days ago, transferred information from old S10 to new S21 ultra. Everything is the same except I am having difficulty finding a way to assign specific notification sounds to specific apps as those did not transfer for some apps, like Facebook for example. By default, majority of notifications now sound the same. There used to be away to go into settings and assign a sound to each app as you please, but on my S21 ultra I am having really hard time finding those settings where I can make changes.

Premièrement, on ne joue pas avec les paramètres, on ajuste, configuré ceux-ci. Ensuite, il s gardé mon cell durant 4 k 4-5minutes, me refusant de contacter leur service à la clientèle . Ensuite il m'a dis qu'il n'étais pas oubligé de s'identifier au weathing
