How does one change the messages app notification sound from system default

Ok I'm going nuts, on my s10 and my s20fe I could set a different sound then just what the systems notification sound is. But onnmy s24, I can only have my messages app sound alert be whatever my system notification alert sound is, so I have no way of telling when in my pocket if I'm getting a text or a notification from a game or what. It's driving me bonkers, the menus keep taking me all around to the same place, I'll attach a link to a screen recording of me trying to do find somewhere to change it. Unless I'm really dumb and am missing something blatantly obvious, I need some help.

You need to go to Notification Categories below what is shown in the end of your recording

If it isn't showing Notification Categories go to Notifications - Advanced Settings - and enable Manage notification Categories for each app

I have the same problem, but I cannot solve it this way, because "Manage Notification Categories" is missing.
