I recently bought an S8 and noticed the top half has the red tint issue, but my bottom half does not! So there is a horrible color gradient on the bottom half of my display. It's bad enough that my dark grey theme looks like it has a green gradient on the bottom!
I want to see how prevalent these issues are with these phones. Do you have a tint/color gradient issue, color calibration issue (full screen/can fix with calibration in settings), or was your phone fine out of the box?
To check if your screen is bad you can call *#0*# to use the screen diagnostics tool. Alternatively I used an app, search for 'led amoled test' in the play store. Color gradient issues could be more obvious with a gray color (available only in an app). You can fix colors that seem off in Settings->Display->Screen Mode->Color Balance, but only if your entire screen is equally affected! If you have a gradient issue color calibration cannot fix your issue, and you will have to return or warranty the phone.
Really disappointing to get a lemon after swearing off Samsung phones for a while and coming back to them lol..
Hey @densik, I'm sorry to hear about this negative experience. I know that some other users have reported a red tint on their S8's in the past, however, Samsung has released a red screen "patch" that should have already gone out. The fact that only half of your screen is red is very unusual, as this typically affects the entire screen. I would suggest reaching out customer care centre at 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864) to see if they're able to replace/fix your display, etc. To help our customer service team, please have your model number, serial number and date of purchase ready when calling. Ended up exchanging the phone since there was a 15 day refund policy. New phone has a near perfect screen but I can still see some imperfections in contrast on the bottom half again, but luckily isn't bad enough to shift colors from grey to green.
