S24 Ultra native Email app scrolling problem. Version 6.2.06.0

Everything was working a couple weeks ago in the Samsung Email app (not Gmail, not Outlook) but now I cannot scroll in an email when composing. It does scroll, but as soon as I take my finger off it automatically bounces back to where I was before. Really irritating.

I did clear the cache (Does that ever actually solve anything?) Nothing changed.

Anyone have this same problem?

Hi paulpaul,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing with the Samsung Email app on your Galaxy S24 Ultra. We understand how frustrating it can be when basic functionality such as scrolling while composing emails does not work as expected, and we regret that this issue has disrupted your experience.

To assist you further, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Update the Email app: Go to Galaxy Store > My Apps and check if a newer version of the Samsung Email app is available. Updates often contain bug fixes.

  • Clear cache and data again: Navigate to Settings > Apps > Samsung Email > Storage, then clear both cache and data. Restart your device afterward.

  • Check system updates: Ensure your Galaxy S24 Ultra is running the latest software under Settings > Software update.

  • Test in Safe Mode: Restart your device in Safe Mode to rule out interference from third-party apps. If scrolling works in Safe Mode, another app may be causing the issue.

  • Reset app preferences: Go to Settings > Apps > Menu (three dots) > Reset app preferences. This will restore default settings for all apps without deleting data.

  • Reinstall the Email app: If possible, uninstall updates for the Samsung Email app and reinstall them from the Galaxy Store.

  • Accessibility settings check: Review Settings > Accessibility to ensure no gesture or interaction settings are interfering with scrolling.

  • Alternative test: Try composing an email in another app (e.g., Gmail or Outlook) to confirm whether the issue is isolated to Samsung Email.

If the issue persists after these steps, we recommend submitting an error report through the Samsung Members app so that the engineering team can investigate further.

Same issue here that started this afternoon. No Apps were added or updated. None of the fixes you suggested have corrected the problem.

If you can't correct the issue quickly I will need to replace the phone with a non-Samsung device.

Try this solution maybe it will work.

Go to apps, then show system apps and find Android System Webview and uninstall the update and clear cache and restart. If I missed anything please refer to below thread.

Same problem here. None of the fixes resolve the issue. The issue is definitely Samsung email and not a third party app.

Try uninstall updates from Android System Webview which u can find in apps > show hidden or System app. Clear the cache and restart.

If I'm not clear please refer to this thread. Thank me later :)

The clearing the cache and data didn't work, but uninstalling updates and resetting to the factory setting seems to have helped. Thank you for the suggestions.

Must be AI. I posted the app version and my Samsung is set to automatically update. Everything is the latest.

Yes, the problem is unique to the Samsung email app.

I am also having the same issue on Galaxy Z Fold 7. Tried clearing the cache but dont want to re-install as it dumps all the data and is a pain to restore.
