I bought a new Unlocked S20 5G on Friday from Best Buy and returned it yesterday. I was under the impression that the e-sim in the phone was enabled. It was not.
Is there any confirmation or date that this will happen with a software upgrade or not? I am about to buy another iPhone but love the feel of the Samsung. My friend also returned his as there is no confirmation and everything is very unclear....
I got all my hopes up and made the updgrade this morning right at 12AM to Android 11 One UI 3 from Telus. No sign of eSIM same as before under Connections settings.
I can't wait until next phone, I will sell this and buy an Apple ASAP.
the hope was given by the moderator Keagan back on October 28th with his post about a qualcomm patch for esim that going to be releases by Samsung. I thought yes finally it's happening. But here we are still waiting
yes, that's what I read and trusted him/her since is a moderator and google the release date for Android 11 and found out release date Dec 15th and upgrade right away and let me down again. Since we are in lockdown I still have time to sell this junk until I start travel again.

I spoke with Samsung Canada today, the canadian model s21 will not be available with dual sim... They probably disabled eSIM for the Canadian variant again !
Recently moved to Canada from Europe and was a bit shocked that local S20 only doesn't support dual physical SIM, but not even eSIM, while EU models have both features.
Please forward this concern to management and make eSIM available in Canada on all models!
