Warning to anyone considering travelling with their Canadian model Samsung phone in Europe.

Unlike iPhone or Pixel, Samsung purposely locks out LTE and 5G band 28 on their Canadian model Samsung phones. Without this band, you will likely have NO cellular service indoors when in Europe/Australia, even if you use a European or Australian SIM card.

Samsung: Your Canadian model phones such as the S22, 23, 24 and 25 series phones, as well as the Z Flip and Fold series phones are capable of supporting band 28. Please unlock this band immediately. No excuses. Thank you.

You are saying this based on personal experience?

The specs for the Canadian S25 series say differently.

I'm saying is based on fact, and personal experience backed up by that fact. The official specs do not say differently.

I've never had any issues with Samsung phones in Europe, France, Italy, Spain..

Have you tried using your S25 device in Europe?

Specs from GSM Arena.

The US Samsung S25 is identical hardware, and GSM Arena breaks it down between the US & International variants.

Look at the the supported bands.. and as I said, I've never had any issues with connectivity in Europe., or anywhere in the Caribbean, even Cuba.

I just don't see the value in making statements that are unlikely to be true.. unless it's actually been verified.

Yet, the software is different. And as stated above, op said it was disabled via software, even though their phones are fully capable. Do you know how to read? Also, I would trust the manufacturers website over gsm. Stop trying to prove a point that is false.

Does your IQ begin with a decimal?

You can use Samsung Phones pretty much anywhere in the world.. Maybe not North Korea..

It's not about me trying to prove anything. It's about someone posting false information.

Have you heard of software limitations? Just like how they block foriegn cards on wallet, or not allow third-party apps to have as good as a quality. I've also had this happen to me with my Canadian samsung in korea. Read the manufacturers website, 5g & LTE arent allowed on channel 28.
