Cast Video and Music to Xbox One

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know how to cast music and or video from the Galaxy s8 to an Xbox One? When I use the smart view option from the notification slider, it can only locate my Google home and not my Xbox. Even my Samsung TV doesn't show up on that list.

Mine shows up using Samsung connect, weird. I'll have to check my Xbox settings maybe something is different there

Is Samsung connect the same thing as smart view? Could you check your Xbox settings as well? I'm not able to see mine under smart view 😔

This is Samsung connect, the Xbox is under my wife's name (Hollie)
Does yours look like this at all?

Hello everyone, I have a Galaxy A5 2017 model and I reside in Canada. I cannot download any app that is Canada based as it says not available in my country. Also my BBM always gets contact requests from somewhere in Asia...Malaysia, Indonesia or somewhere from that region. what do i do?

I use Samsung Connect on my samsung tv..
also I have a PS3...so I cant be very helpful..

Hey @sikhness, are both your devices on the same Wi-Fi network and is your xbox currently connect to that network? Ensure that both are connected, and give your phone some time to discover surrounding devices. You can also restart both devices if it doesn't detect anything. If you're still having issues, feel free to visit your local Samsung service location so we can take a look for you.

Hey Nick, thanks for the reply! Both my Xbox and my phone were on the same network but turns out for some reason it doesn't work properly when connected to my 5ghz network to locate it through Samsung connect.
When I connected them both to my normal 2.5ghz network, I was able to find the Xbox through the Samsung connect app. After that, I reconnected them back to the 5ghz network and the saved connection info still works. Weird, have you seen that before?
