Dex and fingerprint auth broken after Android 12 Update

My Rogers S21 Ultra was upgraded to Android 12 on December 6th or so.

Since then apps that use fingerprint authentication fail when opened in Dex.  For example:

1. Launch app in Dex (ie my banking app)
2. Click on biometric authentication
3. Fingerprint reader shows up on device screen (as expected)
4. Attempt to scan fingerprint
5. As soon as you do, popup indicates that fingerprint authentication was cancelled.

If you stay in Dex but open the app on the mobile device screen, there are no issues with biometric authentication.

C'Mon Samsung, don't you have teams that test this software and the various examples of its use?

Hi PhlipOut, I suggest you please try performing the wipe cache partition by following the instruction below and check if the issue got resolved.

Turn off the device.

Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.

When the Android logo displays, release both keys.

An 'Installing system update' message may show briefly before the Android Recovery menu options appear.

Press the Volume down key several times to highlight "Wipe cache partition".

Press Bixby / Power key to select.

Press the Volume down key to highlight Yes, then press the Bixby / Power key to select.

When the process is complete, the Reboot system now is highlighted.

Press the Bixby / Power key to restart the device.

This step was already performed without success.
I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the application. Still not functioning.

Additionally since this update, my monitor gets flash/flicker randomly when using Dex.

Hi, We request you to register an Error Report from the Samsung Members app by attaching the system logs.

Open the Samsung Members app>> Menu >> Support >> Send feedback >> Error Report >> Send system log file.

With these logs, our team could analyze the performance and errors on the device and if there is anything related to the Samsung update that you have installed recently, we would push a fix through an update.

Having the exact same problem. Additionally, Notifications with options to chose from (for instance, GMail notifications where I can "delete" or "answer") don't work either when triggered in Dex mode.

Really frustrating, especially because I can't even use my password manager app properly which makes the whole desktop mode experience horrible.

same exact problems here to.. obviously dex mode was not tested.. lol

thank samsung for wasting my time.

mine is doing this same thing.   its trying to refresh the screen it seems and change the resolution.  once it does this everything goes unresponsive for idk 2 seconds.. then comes back.  problem is it does this over and over about ever 30 seconds...

nice to see its a ongoing issue thats over a month old and all samsung has said is uh... we need logs.... uh.... someone test this for us.... lol
