Galaxy SHi, we suggest you to please follow this:
When you want to turn on Do not disturb mode to concentrate but are expecting an important call, you can allow exceptions and customize what alerts you receive.
Open the Quick settings panel by swiping down from the top of the screen.
Touch and hold the Do not disturb icon to open up its settings.
Swipe to the Exceptions section, and then select from the displayed options.
Calls, messages, and conversations:
Allow calls and messages from any contact, favorite contacts, or anyone to bypass Do not disturb.
You can also allow repeated calls through.
Alarms and sounds:
Alarms and media sounds are enabled by default, but you can also choose to allow touch sounds, calendar events, and reminders though.
Apps:
You can select specific apps that will be able to notify you when Do not disturb is enabled.
You can also control what notifications are hidden by tapping Hide notifications. Critical notifications about phone activity or status will never be hidden.
Hide all:
All notifications that are not subject to an exception will be hidden.
When the screen is off:
Full screen notifications, like phone calls, can be disabled.
When the screen is on:
You can prevent notifications from appearing as icon badges, in the notification panel, in the status bar, and in pop-ups.

Galaxy SI am not clear on answer above. I have a scheduled "Do Not Disturb," with no apps allowed.
I am not clear if Hide Notifications operates 24/7 or during Do Not Disturb. If the latter, how does it add to the "no apps allowed" setting.
Paypal notification appears on lock screen (which is OK), but is also sounding.
How do I prevent app notification sounds during Do Not Disturb?

Galaxy S@ColinK... because they can't answer your question. unfortunately, Samsung's DND is "broke," but refuse to acknowledge it. with DND enabled and NO exceptions (as shown in screenshots above), you WILL still get SOME app notifications. not all app notifications, but some do come thru (i've specifically noticed Snapchat & MS Teams).
