I'm just wondering if Knox 0x1 voids warranty in Canada. I am also wondering if the Knox trip removes your ability to trade your phone in (might have to ask my carrier).
I know what the effects of rooting are, and I don't mind losing Samsung Pay or Health because I don't use these apps anyways.
I'm just thinking about rooting because my phone's contract is almost over.

You may be able to trade with bestbuy, the source or your carrier but you won't get any support from samsung canada.

Your warranty is only for one year from Samsung so if you're at the end of your contract the warranty is probably done anyway since it's only 1 year.

@Jmak @Brando thanks for your responses, I might actually install a custom ROM. Might any of you know is Samsung Members will work on a different ROM? I'm highly doubting it will, though.

I've been Rooting & Flashing Custom Roms for the last 7 years or so - Depending on what you're looking for - You can just Root the phone and get some additional flexibility - Or you can Flash Custom TW Based Roms or Custom AOSP Roms.
Unfortunately in North America Manufacturers do void the warranty - But this is not the case in most European countries and other Continents.
You should understand the RISKS - AND Know what you are doing! It is however pretty hard to actually "Brick" a Samsung device - As long as it will Boot into Download Mode you can recover from pretty much any stupid mistake. XDA is the best source for Roms Gapps and Information.
No idea how familiar or experienced you are - But if you go to XDA and you want to get started - Just search for my username if you want - It's shaggyskunk there too 🐧

Yes it voids warranty. And S Members is an APK and does not check for Knox. It checks for device model and country. If either are not on a list of supported HW/Country, you won't enter S Members.
So if you are only concerned about S Members, go ahead.

@CHMultinedia Thank you for the response! I made my choice and I'm going to install a custom ROM and root. Once again, thank you everyone who responded for the information.
