Face Unlock performance boost with OneUI 6.1.1?

My face unlock is working with unprecedented speed at all angles, not just the exact angle at which I set up face unlock in Settings.

Is it my imagination or is this the experience across the board?

The Face Unlock feature, has been improved to work more quickly and effectively at various angles.

Samsung has updated face recognition technology, making it faster and more accurate. This allows the phone to recognize your face even when you're at slightly different angles than the one you originally used during setup.
