I purchased a new S24 along with a new Galaxy watch 7 at the end of November.it set both up immediately.

Issue: At first I was receiving Facebook messenger notifications and was able to respond. NOW, I can receive them but I'm unable to respond. It shows 'Sent' but in checking messenger on another device. . There's no message sent. Or sending. I've tried everything google has to offer. All setting are correct. Messages aren't blocked neither is messenger . This seemingly happened after I've updated my watch. A lot of people online with the same issue and no fix is shown online at all. Please help.

Hi JeffreyDahmerStreams,

We are sorry to hear that your'e experiencing the issue with Facebook Messenger notifications and the inability to respond using your Galaxy Watch 7. This might be caused by compatibility issues between the Messenger app and the Galaxy Watch, or changes in permissions following the update. Here are steps to resolve this:

Ensure notifications and reply permissions are correctly enabled for Messenger:

  • On your phone, open the Galaxy Wearable app.
  • Go to Watch Settings > Notifications.
  • Ensure that Messenger is enabled and allowed to send notifications.
  • Tap on Messenger and ensure Show with details and Actions (Replies) are enabled.

Disconnect and reconnect your Galaxy Watch 7 to reset notification sync:

  • Open the Galaxy Wearable app.
  • Tap on Disconnect Watch, then reconnect it.
  • Recheck if notifications and replies work correctly.

Corrupted app data can cause issues. Reinstall Messenger to reset its integration:

  • On your phone, uninstall Messenger.
  • Restart your phone.
  • Reinstall Messenger from the Google Play Store.
  • Test the notifications and reply functionality again.

Reset the notification system on your watch:

  • Open Settings on your Galaxy Watch.
  • Go to Apps > Manage Apps > Messenger.
  • Clear data and cache for Messenger on the watch, if available.

Facebook Messenger requires certain permissions to send and sync replies:

  • On your phone, go to Settings > Apps > Messenger > Permissions.
  • Ensure Notifications, Contacts, and SMS permissions are allowed.
  • Also check Battery settings: Ensure Messenger is not set to Optimized under Battery Usage (to avoid background service restrictions).

Ensure the Galaxy Watch has necessary permissions:

  • Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.
  • Go to Watch Settings > Apps > App Permissions.
  • Ensure Messenger has notification and background permissions enabled.

If nothing works, you might need to reset your watch: On the watch, go to Settings > General > Reset. Set it up again and check if the issue resolves before restoring backups.

Thank you.

After clicking on the wearable app>Notifications>App notifications. 2 headings show. Watch & Phone. Under watch, Facebook nor messenger are there. Under phone, Messenger is there and is turned on.
I've clicked back and now have clicked on advanced notification settings. This is where show with details is. This is on. The (actions) part is not there. I have disconnected and reconnected the watch and phone still nothing.. for messenger I have un-installed it from my phone as well as the wearable app. I've cleared cache and data on both apps. Messenger is infact installed from the app store. Not sideloaded. To my knowledge, the notifications system has been reset. Battery optimization however did need to be turned off for messenger. I've done that. Disconnected and reconnected devices. For permissions. Every permission is turned on.
I've reset the watch several times but will try again and check back.

Edit#1 I've reset the watch again. It still doesn't sent messages for Facebook.

Did you ever get it to work?

Kinda. In the traditional sense..no. it happened with an update. However. There's an app called informer that's available. It works great and will do what you need it to do. Tweak the settings to your liking 👍 gL lemme know if you need help. 1737678788903.jpg
