Hey i've seen over the past few months several people talking about flashing the beta version of pie. So i have a snapdragon version of the S9 + and to my knowledge it has a locked boot loader. So i'm wondering if at some point in the future if i wanted to use a custom rom or use a beta version of Samsung's rom. Could i do that? Or is that just a exynos version only thing?

The reason people are able to Flash the US Firmware is it's signed by Samsung & you don't need an Unlocked Bootloader for that - Currently the Exynos & Hong Kong devices don't have Locked Bootloaders.
You can't Flash a Custom Rom on the Snapdragon variant of the S9 series.
There is a "custom rom" available for the Snapdragon S8 series - But it has a locked bootloader as well & it's not a custom rom in the true sense of the meaning - There's still no ability to Flash a Custom Recovery - ie: TWRP.

Samsung firmware can be flashed with a locked bootloader. Custom ROMs can't. This is not an Exynos-only thing. The Snapdragon 0 models have an unlocked bootloader. So this is a North America problem.
